This course is designed to equip early childhood educators with the knowledge and practical skills needed to create engaging, dynamic environments that support learning and development for all age groups. Drawing on the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), this course emphasizes the importance of thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces as powerful tools for fostering children's growth, engagement, and exploration.
Through this course, educators will gain a deep understanding of how to set up environments that reflect the diverse needs, interests, and developmental stages of children. The course will explore how physical spaces—both indoor and outdoor—can be designed to support play-based learning, encourage social interaction, promote independence, and invite inquiry. Educators will learn how to intentionally organize spaces that are inclusive, safe, and stimulating for children across all age groups, while promoting the principles of agency, identity, and connectedness as outlined in the EYLF and VEYLDF.
